Enhancing the Quality of Life in Wichita County
Established in 2002, the Wichita County Community Foundation exists to provide non-profit organizations in Wichita County with a permanent source of support and to serve as a “vehicle” for charitable giving for donors. In 2011, WCCF became an affiliate foundation with the Western Kansas Community Foundation under the GROW initiative from the Kansas Health Foundation. Then in 2024, the WCCF disaffiliated from the WKCF to once again become a standalone foundation.
WCCF is governed and administered by a volunteer board of directors and is designed to accommodate the philanthropic wishes, special concerns and interests of donors. The board is responsible for oversight of the Wichita County Foundation and that a reasonable rate of return is achieved on all funds entrusted to its care.
WCCF helps grow philanthropy by providing a vehicle for individuals, families and businesses to give back to the community through donor advised, designated, field of interest and other various fund types as well as other charitable tools. Returns on the Foundation’s pool of unrestricted funds are granted yearly and used to award competitive grants to support nonprofit organizations and charitable entities in Wichita County.
The Wichita County Community Foundation has created a place for those wishing to donate to our community, to raise funds, create scholarships, and make memorials or endowments. All funds are used for helping the citizens of Wichita County now and for generations to come.
We are:
- Enabling donors to fulfill their charitable desires
- Building a permanent endowment for Wichita County
- Facilitating prudent management and care of funds
- Meeting needs through grants, awards, and scholarships
