We’re halfway through the year, and it’s a great time to share some highlights of what’s been happening at the Foundation the past few months. Thanks to your support, we’ve awarded scholarships to local students, launched new community initiatives, and helped fund local projects. Below is a look into how your involvement makes a difference in our community.
Grant Spotlight
The Leoti Lightning Swim Team received a grant to purchase a new team canopy. (Pictured below) This canopy provided a place to keep everyone shaded and cool during their meets!
WCHS Track & Field received a grant to purchase 3 new pole vaults. This will allow the program to improve safety by having properly sized and rated poles, expand participation by providing adequate equipment, and increase competitive success by allowing athletes to train effectively.
WCCF Scholarships
This spring, the Wichita County Community Foundation awarded $9,000 in scholarships to local students pursuing college or continuing their education. These scholarships are made possinle through generous donors who believe in the potential of our youth.

Community Strides 5K/1 Mile Fun Run
This year was our first annual Community Strides 5K/1 Mile Fun Run! We kicked off June Jaunt with an early morning race to raise funds for local grant making efforts. Over $500 were raised! A big thank you to all of the participants & volunteers who made this event a success.
Love Leoti
The Wichita County Community Foundation and Wichita County Economic Development kicked off a “Love Leoti” campaign with a coffee chat. “Love Leoti” will be a fund held at the Wichita County Community Foundation to support local non-profits, foster community pride, and aid in community betterment. Keep an eye out for new happenings with “Love Leoti” and our t-shirt sale to raise funds to support these initiatives.
Wheat Harvest & Grain Donations
Wheat harvest is here! We want to give a heartfelt thank you to our hardworking farmers. Our grain donation program offers producers a simple way to turn part of their harvest into a long lasting impact. Each local elevator has accounts in place to accept donations for the Wichita County Community Foundation. If you would like to learn more, please reach out to our Executive Director.
